Here is a list of resources that I have found helpful on my HA journey, from HA-specific resources to general body image or nutrition resources.

Podcasts

- The Food Medic Podcast, Episode 7, Season 3 - Hypothalamic Amenorrhea - this poddie is great for understanding HA in more depth. This is the podcast that really helped me understand what was going on with my body. Until I listened to this, I was in the dark

- The Food Medic Podcast, Episode 4, Season 4 - Women Are Not Small Men - this one is good for understanding that women's physiology actually requires significantly different training and fuelling vs. men, as opposed to a scaled back version of what men do. Also, training on an empty stomach is a BIG nono.

- Highest Self Podcast, Episode 305: Working With Your Menstrual Cycle for Optimal Living with Alisa Vitti - this one is another great overview of how women's training needs to be adapted to their cycles, and introduces the concept of the infradian rhythm

- Female Athlete Pod - a good series that generally discusses all things women's health and exercise, opening up the conversations that we need to be having more!

Books

- No Period Now What , by Dr Nicola J. Rinaldi, Stephanie G. Buckler and Lisa Sanfillippo Waddell - this is THE BIBLE on HA and going ‘all in’

- ROAR, by Dr Stacy Sims - detailed guide on training and fuelling as a woman

- In the Flo, by Alisa Vitti - I haven't read this one yet, but it's in the mail on it's way to me, and is about understanding how women need to adapt their behaviours (including training and eating) over course of their cycle to work with their cycle and get the most out of life

- Period Power, by Maisie Hill - again, haven't read this one, but it's on my bookshelf awaiting my attention. As with In the Flo this is about harnessing your cycle, rather than seeing it as some kind of inconvenience.

Videos

- "Your Period and Performance" - Former Olympic Triathlete and now Bowerman Track Club Runner, Gwen Jorgensen, explaining menstruation - a really useful overview to get your head around what is happening.

- "How I Got My Period Back" - Influencer and model, Kate Noel, discussing HA recovery
